Here's a list of 7 Black 'van life' influencers you should know: living off the grid

Here's what off the grid homeownership looks like in van life

The open road beckons, promising adventure, self-discovery and a life untethered from the constraints of traditional living.

For many, the allure of van life is irresistible, offering a chance to break free from the mundane and embrace a more nomadic existence. And for some Black people, van life holds an additional significance: a path towards liberation and empowerment.

In recent years, there has been a growing movement of individuals who have chosen to trade in their conventional homes for the freedom and flexibility of living in converted vans, RVs and mobile tiny homes, according to a report by statista.

Folks are drawn to the ‘on the road’ lifestyle for a variety of reasons.

For some, it's an opportunity to escape the confines of a system that has historically marginalized and oppressed them. For others, it's a chance to reconnect with the outdoors, explore new places and experience the world on their own terms.

Whether on the road or formerly on the road - here are seven Black van lifers (not in any particular order) sharing their experiences online (the good, bad and ugly).
